‘A great selection of LGBT films, some never-before-seen in the Bay Area’
The first annual Cinematografo International Film Festival is a film exhibition series designed to elevate and showcase emerging Filipino and Filipino-American talent in producing films and television content to the world stage.
For its inaugural year, Cinematografo is proud to feature four eye-opening LGBT films.
MGA GABING KASINGHABA NG HAIR KO (THOSE LONG HAIRED NIGHTS)
Gerardo Calagui’s social realist drama introduces us to three transgender sex workers who saunter along the streets of Manila’s red-light district to offer their friendship and services. PATAY NA SI HESUS (JESUS IS DEAD)
When Iyay (Cannes Best Actress winner Jaclyn Jose) learns that her estranged husband has died, she decides to drive her family to the wake.Director Victor Villanueva subverts the road trip movie into a layered social commentary on human behavior against a tapestry of religious traditions, intimacy and forgiveness.
